agree with chriseybaby

if you spending that sort of money plasma

got a 37inch plasma down stairs and 32 inch lcd up stairs

the picture on the plasma is more natural and not as harsh as the lcd for tv viewing ( either hd or digital ) but the lcd is better for gaming and cheaper to run powerwise

the bigger you go the more you notice any poor quality

check any has a couple of scarts and hdmi sockets, vga socket is handy for running your laptop or tower through

with your budget i would spend less on the tv and invest in a decent amp, makes a hell of a difference to any inbuilt speakers

and yes all screens are measured across the diagonal

one other thing to consisder is how to make use of the hd option, sky will charge you �75 for the box, �10 a month, freesat you have to pay for the box but cant record like the sky version, humax are bringing out a pvr hd box before xmas with huge hard drive, 2 channel record and no subs per month

so split your budget into tv, amp and some cash for hd viewing options plus some half decent cables ( nothing flash, some companys charge a fortune for cables )

ebuyer is good place for tvs, cables and amps
