I�m not suggesting that iTunes software causes hardware to fail, so why is it relevant if the monitors broke on the Macs that I tested iTunes on?
However I�ve had monitors fail on both PC and Mac, but they failed because a component in the monitor failed and that is totally independent of the system to which the monitor is attached.
Sorry but your entire iTunes statement is in a nutshell �bulls hit�.
You may not be able to self repair many modern cars, but the manufactures can. What Apple has done is the equivalent of integrating all the major components of the car (shell, engine, gearbox, brakes etc.) so tightly for aesthetic reasons alone, that should one component fail the whole car is scrap.
Since a computer is a working tool, aesthetic considerations should come very low in the list of requirements, especially if they determine an architecture that makes the tool unserviceable.
