No David.... there is something SIGNIFICANTLY different about health and safety AT WORK than at SCHOOL!
No sane person would put scaffolding (for example) in the playground for kids to climb and use but such scaffolding is (almost) ESSENTIAL in the building trade! Therefore, H+S is NEEDED to protect workers who MUST work in blatantly dangerous conditions! However, I would NOT support a 'worker' making a claim who tripped over a rabbit hole so long as that 'rabbit hole' was NOT a normally recognised hazard of his work. Such an accident to a child OR an adult is just, simple HARD LUCK!
BUT.... allowing a rabbit-hole in the middle of Chelsea's football pitch WOULD count as 'sue-able' in my book if Drogba (?) fell into it!!
Grazed knees, banged heads, cut fingers ARE a part of growing-up! Falling off scaffolding, losing fingers in a hydraulic press or being run over by a fork-lift trucks ARE NOT!
