Like all Mac Experts, he clearly knows NOTHING about facts!
1) The Mac book WAS plugged in some of the time!
2) We tried it on battery FIRST and STILL no success.
3) The Mac book worked FINE when it was running in Windows mode both plugged in and on battery!
And perhaps you'd like to ask this 'expert' exactly HOW being plugged in would affect the Mac's ability to work WITHOUT a password/passkey..... It was NOT that the WiFi was 'switched off'. It COULD see the Access poiint and I COULD Identify, correctly, the SSI.... what it COULDN'T do was to allow us to use the accesspoint if it did NOT use a PASSWORD! Or are you mac Exoerst telling us that Macs DON'T support full Wifi if they ARE unplugged??????!
Finally, this is NOT the only site where I have been asking for info on this problem.... nor is your colleague the ONLY (supposed) Mac Expert around! As I work with MANY other consultants, I have tried my Mac contacts there as well and have ALSO searched the web for the cure! But..... not even SLIGHTLY surprisingly.... I have found this fault listed on a LARGE number of occassions.... all with no CURE being suggested....
The reasons I asked the question ADDITIONALLY here are many, here's some of the reason:-
1) 2 heads are better than 1 and we have a large (some would say EXCESSIVE) number of 'Mac-Wierdos' here who MAY know an answer to the problem
2) To show that the Mac is, (as we have LONG been telling you) NOT the resoltion to all our problems but may very WELL be a HUGE addition to those problems!
3) To puncture the SMUGNESS of the Mac-Wierdos about how 'inutitive' the Mac is! There is SOD ALL 'inuitive' about solving a problem that should NOT exist in the FIRST place!
4) To show, yet AGAIN, that the Mac is USELESS for W*O*R*K!
