The above all took place in 2008, there may well have been others, so the 2008 death rate on the A14 is at least going to exceed that of 1997, 2002, 2003 & 2005! It is obvious that the accident stats for the A14 sound a lot worse than they are. It is a very long road, and if worked out on an accidents per mile basis is probably no worse than many others. Over what part of it were the specs cameras installed? My guess is a relatively small part, that had previously had a high accident rate "blip" in order for it to become a "showpiece" for the specs to justify further installations. Specs will be a motoring nightmare, and should be fought against by every motorist.
