Davy.....
.... why do you INSIST on not thinking about what you write?
I assume you feel that people SHOULD be able to CONTROL their cars if they wish to drive?
On that basis, I assume that you agree that drivers SHOULD be able to drive down the road WITHOUT drifting up the pavement or into the on-coming lane? I also assume that you'd support the Police is they prosecuted those people who FAIL to do steer their cars safely?
So.... if we expect people to be able to control their STEERING accurately, why would you want to allow drivers who CANNOT control that OTHER UTTERLY CRUCIAL aspect of driving.... controlling their SPEED?
Can you IMAGINE being a racing driver who can place his car on a '5p piece' at 150mph but who is UNABLE to control his corner entry speed more accurately than 25mph either side of the 'ideal'? So a corner to be taken at 100mph MIGHT be taken at 75mph or attempted at 125mph.....Are you MAD?
Even if YOU are one of those people who CANNOT judge speeds (and you MAY be) to an accuracy of 20%, then the solution to REMAINING within the law is simple..... drive 20% MORE SLOWLY and then even Y*O*U*R HOPELESS skills will STILL keep you within the legal speed limit. Why don't YOU think of these clever ideas!
Failure to control, your speed is EXACTLY the same error as failing to STEER properly. If you CAN'T do it, then our society is ABSOLUTELY SPOT-ON in REMOVING your LICENCE!
Spoeeding is NOT about 'inability'... it's about not giving a DAMN if you control your speed or not. It's not about inablity, it's about being a CRETIN!
