As far as I remember, as usual, Graham Warner had 'cocked-up' yet again and had constructed too many formula for chassis. Chapman, shouting as usual, had ordered him to 'get rid of the ****ing things'. This was one of Graham's LESS stupid ideas!
If I remember correctly, one was sold to an American and Lotus began to get warrantee claims on the car which (in typical Lotus fashion) they simply ignored! Until Colin got a direct phone call from one of THE Ford family where it was expressed that, as the owner was a PERSONAL friend of Mr Ford it might NOT be in Lotus's interest to keep taking the P***!
I've juts looked it up and that is the original registration number for the car so.... All (one) of the pictures I have of the thing from the 1967 show it WITH stick-on flower-pictures on the bonnet.... they seem to be missing!
