dont knock the bake beans : )
when we moved from london in the 70s my mother was convinced we would get snowed in for weeks in the winter, derbyshire to her was the artic and she prepared as such, we always had enough tinned food for a month
but for very little investment it was better to be safe than sorry, with a little one in the house we always keep enough milk powder, water and nappies for a couple of weeks.....in the uk we always believe food will be on the shelfs but other countries understand that cant always happen, so keep some in the larder on the off chance, common sense
as my good lady works for a wholesalers everything in the house comes in by the case, case of tuna, case of beans and some pot noodles........plus of course a few cases of water are always handy to have knocking around..option list few cases of beer, few bottles of spirits :)
our country does make us think supplies will be there when we want them, but just like karting always good to have your own spares.......and we all know what panic buying can do when the brown stuff hits, brown stuff, add loo roll to the list, nearly forgot
