BBQ, beers and youtube meant my 17inch laptop had a drink of redbull vodka......didnt get wings just a terminal hangover

i checked to late on google the thing to do is turn upside down, pull the battery and leave for a few days, to late for mine, DOA at the local pc place, motherboard had absorbed more than Amy Whorehouse on holiday

rang PRU to ask if covered, yes, filled in claims form over phone and was told to take it to my choice of pc place for a estimate of damage, took it my local indepent guys, paid �25 and sent the report to the PRU, 2 days later they rang, �650 to spend in comet even though only paid �530 for laptop 2 years ago, the closest spec was that price....2 days later the comet card arrived

�75 excess but knocked off �25 pc estimate from claim, ended up with a laptop with 4x the ram, 3x the memory and a hoover ..told the wife it is her xmas present....typing this in the garage

read a lot of horror stories on the web on claims but full marks to the PRU, paid my fees and paid up when i needed it, not the cheapest but customer service was faultless,

it is so easy to get the cheapest price on insurance but before spending check the reviews...........no point paying if they wont pay out when you need it

top marks to the PRU and comet, both treated me as customer not a pain and because of that both have earned kudos points and customer Loyalty
