Thank you for your kind advice; it's the first time that ANYONE has ever said that in reply to any of my messages... however many there have been of them.

In a one word response to your question: Emphasis!

In a more �complete� manner:

If my replies were emails or other types of 'WP' documents, I could underline, embolden, change font or even change the colour of the font. Please can you advise me how to 'emphasise' the words that I require WITHOUT those functions?

You see, I just have a suspicion that YOU use various means of 'emphasis'.... or do YOU avoid the use of the Exclamation mark... or the 'ellipses' (of which you will notice I am quite fond) or would you also count the use of THOSE as� and I quote: �very CONDESCENDING?' Surely, intelligent people like you and me can get the meaning of a sentence WITHOUT the condescending use of an exclamation mark? Many English scholars will tell you the use of the exclamation mark is merely a way of saying: �Oooh, look, I want you to notice that I just made a clever statement!�.

If using THOSE types of 'emphasiser' (if there is such a word) is acceptable to you, you can't object to the CONCEPT of emphasis in text. So... can you give me a clue of how to do it WITHOUT CAPITALS on THIS web site???

Oh... and I loved the sarcasm of creating that admonition of my writing style by copying it... no one has ever done THAT, either!

Hold on� wouldn�t �sarcasm� also be an �unacceptable method of emphasis�, too? And you didn�t mind using THAT, did you?
