"8.7 billion tons of carbon dioxide was emitted into the earth's atmosphere in 2008, a growth of 2 percent despite the economic crisis. This averages out to each person contributing a record high of 1.3 tons of carbon, according to a report in the journal Nature Science. While the global recession slowed the growth of fossil fuel emissions for the first time this decade this year, it did not lower overall emissions in 2008. "
ok so we are all green aware :), tvs not on standby..but charging more devices, bigger tvs and more, more pcs, electric toothbrushes etc, we are not reducing energy demands but increasing every year...standby will not "offset" that effect.
the ads tell you about savings to be had by not being on standby but dont say buy less tech, sat navs, games consoles, pcs with printers, wireless mouse, wifi....if we stop buying the system hits the floor, if this was a serious attempt to reduce "our" use of resources then all devices would have a warning on the packaging...buying this product will harm others..will not happen because the whole system relies on us buying
