I have just checked my 1980 magazines covering Nivelles and I may be wrong......
Every RACE report in the issue refers to him as being 'Ayreton Da Silva'.... (they can't even get his FIRST name right!) There is NO mention of 'Senna'.
However.... the review by Dave Pudney refers consistently to him as being 'da Silva' but it does also mention him ONCE as being 'Senna da Silva' so I think you may be RIGHT. I never had a copy of the programme nor the entry sheet and took his details from the race reviews in Kart and Superkart and others. That was the first time that he appears on the Radar (to me) as being anything special. de Bruyn won but all eyes seem to have been on Ayrton.
Certainly, by the time he got into Formula Ford, he was being actively called 'Senna da Silva'
