Again, agree totally about Radio 4 being worth the fee alone.
To my everlasting shame, I am a Sky subscriber (pardon me while I puke). I held out for a long time against wife and kids, but eventually gave in for an easier life. So here I am giving Mr Murdoch over 500 (!!!) a year; for what? Mostly advertising-infested trash, apart from the stuff thats available on terrestrial TV anyway. You couldnt make it up.
Compare that to what the licence fee buys and the BBC product we get in return looks like unbelievably good value.
However, I must, though it pains me, agree that the case in favour of compulsory subscription which is what the licence fee is is a difficult one to argue.
Also, much as I like ad-free F1 coverage, I wouldnt mind knowing how much of my licence fee/subscription was spent on my behalf to buy that freedom from advertising. Quite possibly too much.
PS: Cant wait to see the back of Mr Woss.
