SRV was FABULOUS but I don't think even HE thought he was better then this!

Remember, SRV and all the others had HEARD this when they started.... 'God' INVENTED it! Unless you are my sort of age, you won't know how TOTALLY STUNNING this stuff was when it first was played!

The story goes that Brian Jones, Peter Green and Eric Clapton all went along to see his first UK appearance (the Marquee?). Brian was then found propping up a bar (again) laughing his head off. When asked why he was laughing, he said, 'go in and see Pete and Eric...... IN TEARS!!!'

Nothing in Guitar has EVER ben more SHOCKING than what Hendrix did! There's no clean-progression where we could have GROWN accustomed to it before Jimmy appeared! His style HIT us like a STEAM ROLLER..... UTTERLY FULLY FORMED! And like NOTHING that had preceded it!
