That is pretty much word for word what I keep saying.
But I go further in making the purist argument that there can be no such thing as a �sports car� on public roads for the simple reason that no sport is involved! It�s a marketing lie that most of the world gobbles up. So Ferraris, Porsches, M3s, Lotuses, etc. etc. etc. � doesn�t matter; they�re not �sports cars� in my book unless they are specially prepared for track use only. And on that condition even a Citroen 2CV can be a �sports car�.
Of course the big problem with all of this is the same as the reason why karting is clearly not as it should, even in these financially constrained times, taking much more business away from car racing: it�s still so important to so many people to �make a statement about themselves� with the cars they drive, and how supposedly fast they can drive them.
So we�re stuck with boy racers on public roads, and all young men are stuck with astronomical insurance premiums.
