My first thought was to doubt your claim about our 'poverty line' and your 'minimum wage'...... but........

However....

....... this is my point.

Sadly, I had my eyes opened to the state of our 'unemployment' figures, recently. I watched a 'Wife Swap' program even though I LOATHE that sort of thing.

Two Wives exchange families for a fortnight. Each family declares all sorts of things including their income. One 'Huband Wife and 2 Kids' family had both parents at work: he was a minor accounts clerk andf she did a full time office job. The other Husband, Wife and 5 Kids had ONLY the wife working PART time...... He did NOTHING......

The little accounts clerk sat and read the other's statement about their income, quite smug in expecting his income to SIGNIFICANTLY exceed the laregr family's.... because they were jointly earning around �52,000. The poor little chap nearly FAINTED when he found the 'Scroungers' were on the equivalent of SIXTY thousand when you took everything into account...... Thus, a scrounger with 5 young kids had been GIVEN a LARGE house on a REDUCED rent and was receiving state-handouts MASSIVELY in exccess of the working family's income.....

I doubted that the figures were even POSSIBLE and I spoke to a friend who is a Senior Social Worker. She already KNEW the scrounger-couple's income as it had become the 'talk of the office' after the program had 'aired' and she CONFIRMED the figures ARE CORRECT!

Do I NEED to state why this is UTTERLY UNACCEPTABLE.......?
