Will it grow on you? Obviously everyones different, some love it and others won't, i just read the android reviews and the iPhone bashing that came with them, seeing as everybody and his mum has an iPhone i thought nows a perfect time as any to be a bit different. As i said i'm still finding my way around android, it shows just how intense the OS is, for instance, you'd learn your way round symbian OS in an evening, android doesn't compare, i will stick my neck out again and recommend android, give it a go and i'm certain with a bit of play time, at your own pace you'll wonder what took you so long.
Is there anything it won't do as well as the iPhone? Or at all? I can't comment as i never owned an iPhone but did play with a mates for half hour but ultimately i made the other choice, to be different if nothing else.
Do they scratch easily? Glass screen, meant to be scratch resistant.
Do I have to worry about viruses or is my friend with an HTC magic just trying to scare me? I never gave it much thought before, wasn't until i got my desire and went shopping for apps i came across the 'antivirus' app, it scans all apps during installation and tells you whether they're clean or not, don't know if it'll stop the download if not as i've never found an app thats infected.
I must agree with Newshound also on his post, everything just seems so effortless with android, simple things like being able to multi task, not something at the front of your mind when deciding to get one but once you have its amazing how often you actually require multi tasking.
Live wallpapers are ace too, aCircuit board is good as are aquarium, blue sea(thanks to samsung), magic smoke, plasma and the default water.
