He was offered a bucket load of money to sign for MZ in Moto2 but wisely, given the lack of pace of the bike this year even in the hands of Westy, turned it down. I would say he is the hottest property in bike racing, and to be fair if I was a Moto GP I would be trying to sign him now - surely with time he could do a better job than say Colin Edwards is doing at Tech3? However it may be that at present he just isnt physically large enough for Moto GP so Moto2 is where he will be next year, give him a chance to bulk up a bit. What is undoubtably true though is he is the next 'Alien' alongside Rossi, Jorge, Pedrosa and Casey. If he isnt Moto2 champ next year then 2012 for sure.
As to 125 this year, Aspars bikes have'nt been as quick as the Derbi's for sure, but the team effectively signalled they had given up on the 2010 title when they re-signed Terol for 125 in 2011, perhaps selling the idea to Bancaja that with Marquez gone they can win the last 125 title - I think they probably need the Ayo Derbis though for that, theyve been the class of the field.
As for Bradley Smith... it will be interesting to see him in the rough and tumble of Moto2, theres been a lot of talk that his Aspar bikes not been the measure of his team-mate Terols this year. Be that as it may next year really is make or break for him in the level playing field of Moto2, otherwise its off to WSS or BSB I guess.
