Yes the Derbis are quick, although only Marques really stands out - his team-mate Cortese cant hold a candle to Esaragus and Terol, although sometimes on the pace of Smith and Vasquez. As I understand it Ajo who run Marques have their own dyno and have followed their own tuning path, and are arguably as quick across the board as the works team. The Ajo bikes may be the ones to try and get hold of for next year if they are available.
Currently Ajo are trying to get a Moto2 entry for next year, but apparently Dorna are holding back because they dont want the world and his dog in Moto2 as its been to the detriment of 125 this year, with grids down by around 10. That should hopefully change when Moto3 for 250 4 strokes replaces 125s in 2012, it will be good to see some bike development as Aprilia apparently havent updated the bikes for a season or two since KTM pulled out as a works operation, and Honda are'nt interested in anything outside Japan and havent developed for even longer.
There is a new bike on the horizon for next year, renowned 2 stroke guru Haral Barthols is developing a new project, allegedly based on the KTM. Danny Kents been riding it in the Spanish championship, I was hoping he would stay on it next year but his Manager Roger Burnett has apparently negotiated him an Aprilia (Id guess at Bluesens, who Redding won for in 2008).
As to Brad this years - its anyones guess whats been going on in that pit - its tres bizzare that the man who could run Simon so close on occasion is an also ran.
