Erm guys...
Gravity is an acceleration!
The resulting force excerted by the acceleration due to gravity depends upon the mass of any particular object.
F = m * a
Force = Mass * Acceleration
Gravitational Acceleration = Constant = Approximatelly 9.81 metres/second^2
Take a 1 kg bag of sugar with gravity accelerating it towards the earth at 9.81 m/s^2 and it will excert a force of approximatelly 9.81N (Newtons).
Take a 2 kg bag of sugar with gravity accelerating it towards the earth at 9.81 m/s^2 and it will excert double the force of 19.62N (Newtons).
Thus,
Gravity is an acceleration! If gravity was a force then we would all have the same mass (weight)... which would be ideal in my case seeming as is usually the case ive had one or two too many mince pies over Christmas!
