Lol whilst I agree that suspension technology has improved has the actual ideas behind them? Yes the early Escorts were slow in 1.1 or 1.3 guise but surely they were still better than a mk3/4 1.3?
I guess the transition from new car to used to banger to classic means that prices go down then increase with rarity means so truely awful cars TR7 for example are regarded as classics.
The original Golf or 205 gti's were epic, the latest ones has lost the rawness and drama. I agree they are better made and more comfy but seem to be badge engineered rather that true to the orginal.
The only sector I can see genuine improvement is the luxury one. The point of Rolls Royce, Merc S class, Bmw 7 series is the same and genuine improvements sticking to the original idea of comfort.
