I have to say, guys.... you are assessing the Reliant 3 wheeler by the WRONG criteria. It never PRETENDED to be 'performance', comfort, quality' (except the 'Bug' of course). It was produced to be TRANSPORT for the poor and for those who had ZERO pretensions about the car they bought and, specifically, for those who wanted to pay the LOWEST road fund tax available. Seen on THOSE terms, the thing was pretty damned successful.
Judging cars by any other criterion would have, for example.... the (I don't know....) the Ford RS200 being slagged off for being RUBBISH as a coastal minesweeper! No one pretended it WAS a minesweeper.... anymore than anyone pretended the Reliant Robin (that is NOT Delboy's transport...) was a PERFORMANCE car.
Slag the Robin off IF it pretended to be something that it wasn't! There's PLENTY of targets for THAT sort of 'attack'.
