So if Hitler had been got at prior to the end of the war saving how many thousands of lives would the end not justify the means?
I can see the arguement about the "human rights" being what seperates us from the terrorists and he should have gone to trial but thats a romantic ideal that has ultimately caused the West to get into the trouble its in. If decisive action was taken earlier I'm sure most of the problems wouldnt have arisen.
What you are saying would be like a Medieval Knight attacking someone that had a machine gun. Sure he would die but would stay true to his beliefs. Personally I'd rather someone with a sniper rifle killed the other fella so that the knight could go on living in the way he chooses. You may not like it but to preserve "our" society you are always going to need people to do the dirty work that is against the principles that they are protecting.
