Assuming the BBC report is correct:-

.... then, once again, 2 riders have died this year, exactly in line with the average for the past 100 years.
Unlike many, I find this mindless sacrifice of young (-ish) men completely unacceptable for EXACTLY the same reason that 'we' decided that F1 races at places like Nurburgring we too lethal to continue
I value these TT rider's lives as much as I do any F1 driver but, so far, NOTHING has been done which has cut the average (2 deaths per year) at the TT.
Those who would defend it, please assure me that if 2 racers died every year at (for example) the TKM festival.... that we wouldn't ALL be calling for its cancellation until EFFECTIVE safety measure were put into place.
Please don't suggest the 'joke' excuse of: 'they all knew the risks'. Every F1 driver KNEW THE RISKS at Old Nurburgring, Old Spa, Old Mille Miglia, old Circuit Clermont-Ferrand, etc., etc. and THEY were all stopped for similar safety reasons.
Where we knew tracks to be stupidly lethal, we STOPPED racing or changed the track ENOUGH to STOP it being lethal..... except for the TT.......
Every driver at the TKM festival would 'know the risks' if it applied to us, too.
All you have to do is confirm you would NOT want something done if WE lost 2 per year (average) at a KART meeting. The we'll know the honourable ones of you.
