Peter..... I'll be polite.....
Just try a little experiment for yourself..... No.... I'll do it for you :-
Let's jump back to the 1976....
We'll replace 'TT' from your sentences with 'Nurburgring' and see the effect. By the way... I am old enough to remember IDIOTS saying words damned similar if not IDENTICAL words to these :-
"Make a 14 mile road race PROPERLY safe(r).. seriously?
The Nurburgring F1 race is NOT a CIRCUS. The drivers are NOT PUPPETS. They drive for THEIR own enjoyment and thrills.
This is something which, to be honest, is NONE of our BUSINESS. Why should YOU have a say on what THEY do with THEIR own lives?
Try spouting this crap to a Nurburgring racer and they will tell YOU where to shove it."
Now remember what happened to Nurburgring racing (not just F1 races) after Niki was injured...... not killed ..... just injured. Please note, the same happened to LOADS of circuits that WOULD NOT modify the tracks to be safer!
The question is..... why is it ok for Biker racers to die at SUCH a rate but NOT for a Nurburgring racer at a V*A*S*T*L*Y lower rate? Watch the 'Grand Prix: The Killer Years' TV prog. to get the idea!
If you can answer that, I'll be willing to continue this with you.
To get into the swing of this, try replacing 'TT races' with 'bare-knuckle boxing'. Or 'Coliseum Gladiatorial Tournaments'. Or 'Russian Roulette'. Your words fit just as well to those, too! If we accepted your words, we would allow the Isle of Man to organise Russian Roulette tournaments, too! Would YOU support THAT, too?
