Ian, I was making a fair comparison, it is you that is not. I think you missed my point. You can't compare the tkm festival with the TT because tkm races do happen every weekend. So if they were all safe aprat from one anuual tkm event then it would indicate that the festival has a particular issue.
The TT is different as it is a one off event. It's not like road races take place every weekend and it's just the TT that has a problem. Like it or not, the TT is inherently dangerous, like many other sports are. The competitors know that and choose to do it, just as base jumpers choose to take part in something that they know may kill them.
F1 developed and became more safe without ruining the spectacle. If you think you can save lives at the TT without banning it or ruining it then I'm sure they would be glad to hear from you.
