I find it strange that there are those on here that so veherently feel that the TT should be stopped on safety grounds when there are so many deaths of leisure bikers on the road.
These riders on the road don't commute, work or have to ride but choose to do so for enjoyment (similar reasons that a majority of the TT racers compete there)........and there's more chance of getting seriously heurt every day on the public roads. Also I do agree, advances on safety have made life a much safer place BUT we have moved into the realms of removing personal responsibility to a point where it is becoming rediculous.
In an ideal world the full TT course would be lined with air fencing (or whateveer) to make things as safe as possible but surely there is a point which one reaches where you have to say, "look guys you know this is bloody dangerous, we've done all we can with the funds available, it's your choice"..... If not who decides if something it too dangerous for a particular individual? If the riders were having accidents and launching the bikes through teh windows of houses and endangering the residents it would be different...
