What happy that he beat Marcus Ericsson in the Sauber by a tenth of a second. Either the Sauber is incredibly quick this year or we are not seeing the true pace of the cars. I'd go for 99% on the latter.
I think Alonso will be a force to be reckoned with this year. He can help develop a car (unlike Jenson) in the right direction with the right people around him and I think with Maclaren and Honda he has the perfect package to move forward with this year. It could be mid season before we start to see the Maclaren being competitive but once they are there I think they will be up there fighting for podiums.
Vettel doesn't stand a chance though, I don't believe for one minute that Ferrari can be any good, too much going on within the team over the last year. If Vettel hasn't got the best car on the grid he can't win anyway as was proven last season.
