metcheck is great
i regularly check the jet stream, that is by far the best indicator of weather for long range forecasts. I predicted this cold snap 2 weeks ago with this. You can make some pretty accurate assumptions on this, i.e if the jetstream is strong and from the west it will be warm wet and windy!

if you can afford it Piers Corbyn uses the solar weather technique for long range forecasts which have proven to be pretty accurate. His short range forecasts are free.
