Tangler, my father in law got caught "speeding" after 50years of driving. He doesn't speed! He got caught because he didn't notice that a new speed limit and a camera sprung overnight on a stretch of dual carriageway he's driven down maybe a thousand times! And it was at night when he was bringing my daughter and partner from Gatwick airport, and he was doing 69 in (new) 50! That particular camera has since been removed and the speed limit returned to its original 70mph under pressure from the public!
So in technical terms he was SPEEDING, however in safety terms he was (and still is) DRIVING! You see HE WAS DRIVING TO THE CONDITIONS! I'm not saying he doesn't need educating, his eyesight might need checking to see the signs, he's probably the worst for hugging the middle lane on the motorway, but as far as speeding is concerned...
And a lot of perfectly safe people have found themselves fleeced by the cameras recently because the government, under pressure from the likes of you have decreed that roads which were deemed safe for decades, roads the envy of Europe and beyond, have had to become middle class money traps! Overnight the people cannot drive with eyes on the road but have to constantly scan the road for traps and the speedo for "safety".
