i dont think most speed limits are far off the mark, its not a race just away to get from A to B, its a form of transport, weird no one has mentioned should we be investing in faster buses or trains
turned up at my local track today to see a focus rs 03 plate sat there, its owner was in his teens and had 2 years driving under his belt, 1200 insurance (which i thought was cheap)...asked him what track days he was going to do, not a clue...brought it for the performance and only going to use it on the road!
performance or modded cars only make sense if you buy them to enjoy on the track or look pretty, anything else is ego, our roads are a transport system and nothing else
limits must be set to the lowest limit of any car ( certain vechicles have their own limits ) or driver who is capable of passing the test on the road....
my own worry is the focus on speed is moving the spot light from other dangers, who is making sure banned drivers are not still driving, who is enforcing that cars have a mot....if it fails you can still drive away in car judged by the road laws as not fit to be on the road, i could go on
all road laws need enforcing and speed limits is the least of my worries, if they are wrong then i may get from a to b a few minutes later, no great problem,
60 speeding fine, 60 evening session at donny......if you love pushing the limit in your car, common sense will tell you what to do
what difference will 10 mph less do to your trip time
of course just my view
