I suggest you read the previous posts - just down the page The DFT figures clearly show that, as a group, those who don't adhere to speed limits have (quite a lot) less accidents than those who do.
You might find that totally counter intuative, but if you believe that the official DFT figures are ANYWHERE NEAR correct you are forced to that conclusion.
Now that is not defending going at silly speeds, clearly that (amongst everything else) needs addressing.
But perhaps, just perhaps, people who make their own mind up about the appropriate speed, by and large, do a better job of judgement than an inanimate circular board does. Radical concept I know.
And please don't say it can't be so - just take a long hard look at the figures.
