Got stopped by a "real" copper the other day, he got me with the gun doing 51 in 40. It turns-out a lot of drivers aren't aware that stretch of road is been recently limited to 40. The other sections around it are 50. I got a "Written Warning" and a talking to by the officer who realised it was a genuine mistake (he asked me how much I was doing and I said 50). How many cameras do that?
How many cameras explain to you when "you make a mistake" why that stretch of road is 40 (or whatever) for what reason?
And you know what? It wasn't the fact that I didn't get the points, nor that I don't agree with the sterile reason that stretch of road is 40 rather than 50 as are the others (or indeed national speed) that I will be doing 40 from now on, but the fact that I felt an association with the man in Black And Yellow, an association neither I nor anyone else can ever have with a Yellow BOX perched on a pole, indiscriminately discriminating against everyone that doesn't fit into a "CRITERIA".
Good on you Swindon!
