Hi All, I am posting these questions on here as I am sure some of you will have done this. We are looking to buy a motorhome and are considering a holiday in the south of France (or at least, somewhere that can be reached in a reasonable time by driving) in the school summer holidays. The questions I would like to ask are as follows: What do I need to consider in terms of costs? There is the obvious fuel considerations but what about road tolls? Can these be avoided or is it better/quicker to use toll roads? Do I need to factor in costs for vehicle maintenance? Am I better off weith a petrol or diesel engined vehicle? Is LPG readily available on the continent? What about ferry crossings, is there a better time to travel? Is it better to stop over or travel the full distance in one day? Do we need any special insurances? Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated as would any experiences you would be willing to share. I have been informed in no uncertain terms by my good lady that we won't be taking our karts with us though... Damn
