thanks for the replies guys, abosolutely loads of really useful info:)

chris, how come you didn't do the placement year? surely its invaluable experience??

atm im doing a national diploma at wiltshire college at castle coombe. im inline to get DDD but the damn course doesn't have further maths meaning that i will have to do a foundation year before doing a Beng. oxford brookes seems to be the place to go and it seems bloody hard work, but then that will make the qualification all the more impressive to employers. formula student sounds like something to get involved in to gain hands on experience and team experience. the kart teams also sound fun:D

what sort of jobs are people going into once they've finished a Beng or a Masters??
