This may not convince you because I won't be shouting it at you, but..... all analogies, or similes, eventually fail because by definition they are not the same. The 4 points you make show the similarities but fail to show the differences. The major difference between a gun and a car is that one fires a bullet. It is this bullet that kills or maims. As soon as you pull the trigger you have no control over it. Whereas in a car you always have control and can alter speed and trajectory at any time. So the analogy might work if in this case, Lewis Hamilton had aimed his car for a gap in the crowd, set his cruise control, and jumped out. And that, like shooting into a crowd, would probably be dangerous.
