And I thought my sons was expensive. We have just been through all this. He pays �1800 3rd party only on a 1.2 Clio. NO curfew or mileage limit. But this was when he was 16 - we start them early in the Isle of Man! The "it's my Mums car" line doesn't work any more and if you have three cars in a house with three drivers then one is automatically rated on the youngest driver. It made no difference to the premium whether the car was in my name or his. If you have him/her named on more than one car then the most powerful/highest grouped is rated on the youngest driver. 17 year old on a Subaru 2.5 turbo anyone?
The insurance company is called Tower which is an isle of Man company but it is a subsidiary of Axa. No UK companies can handle a 16 year old driver as their systems won't recognise the date of birth.
