I agree, people look at the past with rose tinted spectacles saying the racing was better and it was more of a sport. I remember watching many a race where the racing was completely spoilt by the unreliability of the cars. I remember at one point if you had a car that finished the race you stood a good chance of finishing in the top six. I'd much rather have the racing as it is today than as it was then.
Regarding all this faffle about blown diffusers and whether they're allowed 10%, 50%, 80% throttle, well surely it's too difficult to police and the easiest thing to do would be to just ban it full stop. They could do that immediately and then the rules are completely clear and fair for all of them.
