I get what you're trying to say Ash, but Lewis did nothing to deserve the title of Donkey.
He had another great race where he's driven the wheels off a car which clearly isn't there performance-wise (look at Button's recent results) and was f*cked by the team again in another pit-stop error. He had no pace compared to the other front runners but still managed to stay in 3rd for the majority of the race.
In terms of the accident yes, Lewis looked like he'd lose the place before the end of the race but there was only a lap and a half to go and he was entitled to fight for it and to position the car in the way he did. Maldonado went off the track to gain an advantage and stay (semi) alongside. He rejoined the race into a gap that simply didn't exist. Contact was inevitable from Maldonado's onboard footage. I'm not so sure it was Hamilton's greed, any one of us would have fought at that stage in the race. Yes if a clear-cut move was pulled on you, you wouldn't fight it too much. But, it was an impatient move from Maldonado which didn't have to be done there and then, as you said it was likely to happen anyway. Maldonado was at fault, it was not a racing accident (supported by the steward's decision to give him a penalty).
As for Alonso, great driver, even better drive but without mechanical issues Vettel would have probably had the legs on him so not driver of the day / weekend in my opinion...
